Leave of Absence

Paul Hastings recognizes the need to provide time off so you can meet your family, health, and personal obligations. If you are planning to take a leave of absence, log in to Workday and click on “Leave of Absence”. Once you click on “Leave of Absence”, click on LeaveLogic.

The LeaveLogic tool is completely confidential. LeaveLogic allows you to navigate the Firm’s leave program in advance of taking time off and guides you through a full leave scenario for your unique needs. Get step-by-step guidance for your anticipated leave of absence and submit your claim to Unum.

Employees must notify their manager and request their leave as soon as practicable and, if possible, at least 30 days in advance. Please refer to the U.S. Leave of Absence Program for details.

In all cases, applicable Federal and State/District laws govern the Firm’s and the Employee’s rights and obligations.

Benefits While on Leave

The Firm will continue your health coverage (medical/dental/vision) for up to 12 workweeks in a 12-month period at the same level and under the same conditions as if you were still working. If your 12-week FMLA expires and you continue to need medical leave, you will go on COBRA.
